A post a week in 2021
So it’s been a while since I’ve been writing posts, and it is a useful thing to do. So my aim for this year for this blogs is quite simple - an average of about 1 post per week over the course of the year and no break of more than 4 weeks.
It’s obviously simpler to do that as one post a week.
Neither this post nor the first post on the blog count towards this goal. However, what this should mean is by the end of the year there will be 50 posts here. Some may be very short. Some may be longer. We’ll see.
Topics can and may include technology, software, development, HOWTOs, things that are good ideas, things that aren’t. I don’t normally do politics but I have opinions about lots of the stupidities of the day. For shits and giggles, I might include reviews of media and films. I might not. The language here may include swearing - especially it it refers to really annoying things. It’s not likely, but if you’re offended by that sort of thing, you might want to look elsewhere :-)
There is unlikely to be personal or family stuff here though. There’s good reasons for that by for that I prefer to use other platforms. 2020 was an utterly shite year, and there’s an awful lot of shite misinformation being spread around - so if there’s commentary around that sort of thing, then don’t be surprised.
I do also hope to use this as an excuse to make things. When you’re busy and have a 100 things to worry about, having an exuse to build something “frivolous” is useful.
My guess is I’ll do an initial flurry of technical posts, followed by others at random intervals. Ideas that I’m currently bouncing round my mind are how this blog is built (to act as a personal reference in part), how to build a neopixel christmas (blue peter style) advent crown, commentary on covid and perhaps on Brexit.
If there’s any specific requests, let me know.
Oh yes, there’s likely to be smilies too :-)
